Almost here....2013 Season!

So it's been a while!!! This season I am intending to post much more!  So, Rossi back at Yamaha, no Mr Stoner and new blood in the ranks - should be an interesting season.  I wonder if Lorenzo can win it again with Rossi back and looking good and with the added headache of Marquez to contend with, or will Pedrosa finally get his day?  Possibly if they superglue him to the bike......I JEST of course, Pedrosa seems to get stronger and stronger but I have to wonder if he hasn't won it yet, will he?  With new riders coming up and seeming to need no time to adjust to the Moto GP bikes has he missed his opportunity?

I am hoping that being back on a worthy machine that Rossi can give last seasons top dogs a good run for their money, though I wouldn't want to bet against him doing more than that!  With Stoner now gone I hope this season will be more open but looking at the pre season testing I'm not sure that will be the case.  But being a Brit I am rooting for Mr Crutchlow to be at the top of his game and hopefully Bradley Smith will make a name for himself this year.

Now lastly, I am a girl and must admit to not understanding too much about the CRT Teams & rules but as a fan of watching the Moto GP racing, can someone explain, what's the point?  If they are never going to be able to compete with the rest of the field, in the long term, should they be there at all?

All food for thought, counting the days until April......

  1. Hey Zoe, I enjoyed reading your write up. The point of CRT is to help put more bikes on the grid to combat the rising cost for teams. But I agree with you and don't see any point in it at all. Most people who think CRT is a good thing say give it time while I and many others believe there are other ways to reduce costs. But it looks like we are stuck with it until the supporters of it realise that most of MotoGP's problems stem from seriously bad management and leadership and not just the GFC like they claim.

I hope you enjoy the racing this year. I'm hoping that Dani can snatch it and I'm looking forward to seeing Rossi fail..... again

    Cheers

  2. Thanks for your blog.I'm not the biggest fan of the CRT`s,but without them the field would of been down to just 12 riders last year(and this season) And i understand for 2014 the Factory bikes will be restricted more by reducing the amount of fuel they can use in a race. But i doubt it will reduce the gap much between the full prototypes and the CRT`s much. The only good thing on the horizon for the private teams is that Honda intend selling a customer version of their race bike for 2014,which hopefully will be more competitive than current CRT`s.
As for Rossi,my head says he is going to struggle to keep up with the Spanish riders, but my heart wants him to fight for the title!
    Time will tell!
